Surface Preparation: Spray-On VANDL-GUARD may be applied to any clean, painted or unpainted surface. Surface should be structurally sound, dry, clean, and free of dust, grime, scale, rust, silicones, curing and or parting compounds, alkali or acid residues. It is recommended that unpainted masonry and concrete surfaces receive a coat of Rainguard Waterproofer for Wood and Masonry Water Repellent prior to application of VANDL-GUARD. Test coat small area to determine compatibility with surface and to ensure paint has cured adequately.
Directions: Shake well before using. Hold spray can 12 inches from the surface and in a sweeping motion spray material evenly, slightly overlapping edges of spray pattern. Depending on surface type, each container should cover 50 square feet. In areas where heavy graffiti vandalism may occur, apply additional coats for extra protection. Apply additional coats once the surface is dry to touch. If runs or sags occur, clean immediately using a damp soft cloth.
Material should not be applied when surface or ambient temperature is below 40F (3C) or over 105F (37C), or expected to drop below freezing during the 24 hour period following application or if rain is imminent. Protect from freezing.
General Precautions: Wear protective eyewear. Coating may become milky if applied too heavily or if it rains before fully dried. This is a temporary condition and as soon as the surface dries completely, the milkiness will disappear. Protect shrubbery and plants with drop cloths. Mask all windows and surfaces not to be coated.
What To Do If the Applied Surface is Vandalized with Graffiti: ALWAYS REMOVE GRAFFITI DEFACEMENT WITHIN 24 to 48 HOURS. It is always best to use hot water. Most graffiti material can be removed with non-abrasive household cleaners and hot water. For aggressive tagging material use Rainguard® GRAFFITI REMOVER.
